To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Monica Oh and I am a doctoral candidate at the University of Missouri- Kansas City under the supervision of Dr. Nancy Murdock and Dr. Kimberly Langrehr. I am inviting you to participate in a research study that examines the relationship between acculturation and enculturation, model minority stereotype, distress, and life satisfaction in 1.5 generation Asian college students. For this study, individuals are considered 1.5 generation if they immigrated to a new country as children or preteens and spent a large portion of their developmental years in the new country.
You will need to be a 1.5 generation Asian college student between the ages of 18-25 to participate in the study. The survey will take approximately 15-20 minutes and as compensation, you will have the opportunity to enter a raffle to win one of four $25 gift cards. Participation for this survey is completely voluntary. There will be no individually identifying information being asked on the survey so your responses will be completely anonymous. You may choose to withdraw from the study without penalty at any time during the survey.
