KASCON is the largest and oldest student-run, ethnic-specific conference in the United States. Since its inception at Princeton University in 1987, KASCON has been held 29 times across different schools and regions, fostering conversations on identity and opportunities as a Korean American community. The conference will consist of speaker events, workshops, networking, and social activities. This year’s theme is “Jeong” (정). The Korean word “Jeong” is more easily defined through experience than words. While words such as unity, fondness, or even love may relate to it, none of them encompass the depth and significance that “Jeong” has. Through “jeong”/ kinship, we hope to cultivate a community for those who many not find themselves in neither the Korean nor American culture. We believe that every Korean-American has their own “jeong” to their background, family, and traditions. We hope to form a generation of Korean-American leaders in our communities throughout our nation by exploring our heritage, connecting fellow Korean-Americans in our communities, and inspiring attendees via selected speakers.
We are reaching out because we want as many students as possible to attend our conference.
